Michael served on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Chapter of CoreNet Global from 2006 to 2009 and founded CoreNet Young Leaders in Canada. In 2016 and 2017 Michael was Chair of the annual Canadian CoreNet Global Remmy Awards Gala, celebrating excellence in corporate real estate.

The Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) regulates the real estate brokerage industry and enforces the rules that all real estate salespeople, brokers, and brokerages must follow. RECO protects the public interest through a fair, safe and informed marketplace.

Michael is an active volunteer on the Dean's Advisory Council for Laurier's Lazaridis School of Business and Economics and a past member of Laurier's Board of Governors, including serving as the Board's Chair of the Buildings and Properties Committee.

The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) regulate the practices of engineering and geoscience in Alberta on behalf of the Government of Alberta through the Engineering and Geoscience Professions Act.
